Our Privacy Commitment: The AI Chat Transfer extension operates strictly on your local device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell any of your personal data or conversation history to external servers. Your data belongs entirely to you.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the AI Chat Transfer browser extension ("the Extension") handles your data. The Extension is designed to help you migrate active conversation contexts across various supported AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, and Grok.
2. Data Collection and Storage
The Extension is built with a privacy-first, offline-by-default architecture. We do not utilize remote servers, cloud databases, or telemetry systems.
- Local Storage Only: When you choose to save a conversation, the Extension extracts the text from your active browser tab and saves it exclusively to your browser's local storage (utilizing the
chrome.storage.localAPI). - No Data Transmission: At no point is your conversation data, browsing history, or personal identity transmitted over the internet to the developer or any third party.
- What is Saved: Only the data you explicitly choose to save is recorded. This includes the chat messages, the title of the conversation, timestamps, and the URL of the origin platform.
3. Required Browser Permissions
To function correctly, the Extension requires specific browser permissions. These are used strictly to provide the core functionality of saving and injecting chats.

4. Third-Party Services and Tracking
We do not integrate any third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics), advertising networks, or crash-reporting software. Because the Extension operates entirely locally, we have no mechanism to track your usage, nor do we desire to.
5. Managing and Deleting Your Data
You retain complete administrative control over your saved data at all times. You can manage your data in the following ways:
- Manual Deletion: You can delete specific conversations at any time using the delete icon within the Extension's interface.
- Complete Wipe: Uninstalling the Extension from your browser will automatically and permanently purge all locally stored data associated with it. Alternatively, you can clear the Extension's data through your browser's standard privacy settings.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy periodically to reflect feature additions or changes in regulatory requirements. If structural changes are made to how data is handled (e.g., if a cloud-sync feature is ever introduced as an opt-in option), we will provide prominent notice within the Extension and update the effective date at the top of this document.
